Teak: Teak (Tectona grandis Linn.f.)
Teak is a kind of " Verbenaceae " generation, which is also termed as "Tectonagrandis". Teaks are mainly found in Myanmar, India and Thailand. For its long lasting life term and endurance capability against weather conditions, and workable qualities, much value has been placed as a worthy resource.
In Myanmar, beginning from ( 1820 ) teak timber had been mathodically extracted for use from the forests.
The teak based furnitures and sawn timbers were exported to Europe ever since the period of 19 Centuries.
Myanmar teaks are long lasting, strong, balanced weights, easy to use, high endurance, less movement, and puffiness, hard - wood type, only a few shrinkage, unable to spoil by insects, ants and termites, logs cannot decay despite long time touch with water, lasts Indefinitely Under Cover, beautiful and possess good attraction for its colourful qualities, in the whole world, it is a very reputed rare best wood for which no other wood can compete the teak of Myanmar.
For these capabilities, in the construction of Boat, Steamers, Pontoons, Decking, Launches, Deck Houses and Weather Proof Doors, as well as in Interior Fitting for Ships, the teak is use widely.
