Padauk  logs  are  also  termed  as  " Red - Wood ".  In  traditional  chinese  furnitures,  it  is  mostly  used.  It  is  also  useful  in  flooring,  Myanmar " Padauks "  are  very  reputed  in  global  market.  Padauk  is  the  only  Myanma  Export  Log.

Padauk  is  the  biggest  in  Volume,  Hardest, Strongest  wood  in  South - East Asia.  Its  motions  are  small. Shrinkage  from  Green  to  even  dryness  is  2.8%  radially  and  3.9%  tangentially.  It  last  very  long  with  high  endurance  against  the  termits  and  insects.

It  can  get  more  endurance  by  Preservative  Treatment,  but,  generally,  this  is  unnecessary.  The  Untreated  Timber  would  last  over  ( 12 )  years.
